Join us for a salon talk with some of the Sacramento region’s brightest video game developers, indie creators and industry veterans, who will pull back the digital curtain on the gaming world today.

What we’ll discuss:

• How local indies and studios maintain artistic integrity and tell meaningful stories in a market dominated by blockbuster franchises.
• The realities of modern game development, from the “crunch” culture to the recent wave of industry restructuring and layoffs.
• How emerging technologies (AI, virtual reality and cloud gaming) are actively changing how games are designed and experienced
• The debate on gaming’s impact and role in society, weighing its behavioral and cognitive effects against its use as an educational tool and platform for social connection

Come listen, bring your questions — nothing is too dumb or too small to ask .

Tickets are $10; $5 for students. There will be drinks and snacks, but please feel free to BYO.
