As with every year, SDC is excited to bring back the Student Showcase for Capital Creative Showcase 2027!
The Student Showcase gives students, schools, and educational organizations the opportunity to exhibit their games at CCS completely free of charge! It’s an opportunity for aspiring developers to share their work with the public, receive feedback from players, and connect with other developers in Sacramento’s growing game development community.
Students will also have the opportunity to compete for the Outstanding Student Game Award, recognizing the creativity, talent, and hard work that goes into their projects!
Last year, we welcomed a record number of student exhibitors, and we’re hoping to make the Student Showcase even bigger in 2027!
Student Booths and Registration
To help accommodate as many students and educational organizations as possible, we’re making a few adjustments to our student booth policy this year.
Each participating school or educational organization will receive up to two booths completely free of charge.
Organizations that need additional booths may request them, but a refundable deposit will be required for each additional booth reserved.
Deposits will be fully refunded for any additional booths that are used on the day of the event. However, if a reserved booth goes unused, the deposit for that booth will be forfeited.
This policy is being introduced following issues with unused reserved spaces at last year’s event. Our goal is to ensure that booth space is used effectively and that as many students and developers as possible have the opportunity to participate.
Making the Most of Your Booth Space
We understand that students may not be able to attend for the entire day, especially when schools are bringing larger groups.
For organizations with multiple students or projects, we encourage setting up a rotation schedule, allowing different students to showcase their games throughout the event rather than requiring everyone to remain at their booth all day.
This is a great way to give more students the opportunity to participate while making efficient use of the available space.
Join Us at CCS 2027!
The Student Showcase has become one of our favorite parts of CCS, and we’re excited to continue providing a platform for the next generation of game developers.
Capital Creative Showcase 2027 takes place on Saturday, May 15, 2027, at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Sacramento.
We look forward to seeing what our region’s talented students have been creating!
