SUMMARY:Progressive Game Jam: ED - Preview
DESCRIPTION:PGJ ED Preview class open now! This class is a 1-day preview of the upcoming PGJ ED course in 2024. The preview class is a 4-hour crash course in video game development and introduction to the full 10-week course. \nPGJ ED is a 10-week educational program designed for our area’s youth (ages 12 – 18) where they will learn to make video games by making an actual game. Modeled after our successful Progressive Game Jam program\, which has been running for ten years now\, PGJ ED will take participants through a full development lifecycle to make a full game. The program uses video game development to teach participants STEAM-based skills. Registration for the full course is open now and classes start in February 2024. The program is funded by a generous Measure U grant from the City of Sacramento and is free for all participants. \nThe program is open to residents of Sacramento ages 12-18. Classes are limited to 20 participants\, first-come\, first-served. \nThe 1-day preview class happens on Saturday\, Dec. 16th\, 2023\, and will run from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Lab 7 Coworking\, 2417 21st St.\, Sacramento\, CA 95818. \nParticipants must register for the class.
